Why should I trust Token of Trust? I’m worried about sending you my personal information.
We totally understand your concern and we’re glad you asked!
We see this as a very personal issue that more people should be concerned about. At the end of the day - only you can decide what you’re comfortable with but here are some things you might want to be aware of:
Token of Trust was build with privacy by design. This means that we consider personal privacy and data security in everything we do. With regards to personal data we strive to in this order a) not have personal data, b) not retain personal data (by discarding, anonymizing, “pseudonymizing”), c) individually encrypt data when we need to keep it but don’t need access without the end users involvement and d) segregate and protect data with appropriate access controls as well as encryption when we do. This will mean that we need to develop features more slowly and more carefully but doing so safely while protecting consumers is the purpose and the lifeblood of our business.
We don’t use your personal data for any purpose other than to verify you. We don’t sell your data, don’t share your data without your explicit permission - we make it very clear if you’re about to share your data - you never have to guess.
We are compliant with GDPR, CCPA and other international data privacy standards. Token of Trust came about because of data privacy concerns and the need to keep people safe in an age of data breaches and blatant disregard for digital privacy. We do have a Data Privacy Officer (DPO) through a company called Process Bolt. They help to provide 3rd party oversight during ongoing development and help us regularly monitor data privacy risks. They can be reached at privacy@tokenoftrust.com or if you prefer you may reach out directly to them via guarav@processbolt.com or dan@processbolt.com for any issues that relate to privacy or if you feel that your concerns are not being handled appropriately.
As required by GDPR we also have a 20+ page data privacy addendum that goes into intimate detail about what we do at a more technical level to protect you and your data. Let us know if you’d like a copy of it.
