How does the verification process work?

Each verification process is unique and you may be asked to provide more or less information based on the requirements the merchant or service provider you are patronizing needs to satisfy.

The basic process is:

1. At a specific point in your transaction, chosen by the merchant you are patronizing, you will be prompted to complete a Token of Trust verification.
2. Token of Trust will inform you whom you'll be sharing your information. This will always include Token of Trust and it may or may not include the merchant.
3. Once you agree to get verified,Token of Trust will guide you through the steps of providing the various pieces of information needed to complete your verification. These will vary depending on the options selected by the merchant you are patronizing, but may include:

• collecting your full legal name
• collecting your Government Issued Photo ID
• collecting a selfie
• collecting a utility bill as current proof of address.

You can do this right from your desktop or mobile phone. Once that’s done it’s submitted for review and generally complete within a few seconds.
