How does Token of Trust verify accounts?
See our overview of Token of Trust account verification for more details.
Get started with Verifying Accounts
First, click the button 'Verify Account on Signup'. This will navigate you to Token of Trust to create an account.
Enter your email address.
Connect your Token of Trust account to your WordPress site by clicking on the 'Connect to WordPress' button.
Agree in WordPress to connect your Token of Trust account.
Select the pages that you would like to require verification to view. If you have a woo-commerce site we suggest protecting your Checkout, Cart and Shop pages. You should make sure not to select verification-required or My Account. Customers will need to navigate to these pages to create an account and get verified.
Toggle the button at the top of the page to 'ON'.
Users will now be redirected to the verification-required page when they attempt to go to any of the pages you selected in the above step.
This page can be edited by you in future steps to match your sites styling (see below).
Users are required to have an account and be signed in to get verified. If the user is not signed in they will be told to sign in before they can proceed.
Once the user has an account and is signed in, they will be presented with a button to get verified.
The user will be walked thru the verification process.
Once the user has completed the verification process they can navigate to the rest of the pages on the site.
Updating the Verification Required page
The Verification Required page can be updated by navigating to Pages, selecting the Verification Required page and editing the contents.
How can I tell if a user has been verified?
You can look in the users tab in WordPress to see the users status.
You can also look in your Token of Trust dashboard to see the results of a verification.
